Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl is one of the NCAA D1 post-season football bowl games featuring two top collegiate football teams representing the Big 12 and the Pac 12. 

The Independence Bowl’s rich history spans through five decades. Established in 1976, the Independence Bowl received its name because of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. Throughout the first 44 years of the game’s history, 71 First Round Draft selections, five Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees, and seven National Championship-winning coaches have participated in the Independence Bowl.  

Shreveport Mudbugs

Shreveport Mudbugs Hockey has been a part of this community since 1997. The Mudbugs, a Tier II junior ice hockey team, has recruited players of the highest caliber from all around the world. Not only will the Mudbugs Hockey team be top quality on the ice, but the players and staff will continue to be diligent members of the Shreveport-Bossier Community.  

Battle On The Border High School Football Showcase

High school football is a big deal in Northwest Louisiana. Every year, Shreveport Independence Stadium hosts 10 high school football teams from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi for a “Battle on the Border.” The exhilarating atmosphere provided by some of the South’s top amateur players, combined with the electrifying energy put out by the teams’ cheerleaders, marching bands, and pep squads, makes for an unforgettable experience.  

Shreveport Mavericks

Currently in The Basketball League (TBL), the Shreveport Mavericks are a professional basketball team in Shreveport, Louisiana. Founded in 2006, the Mavericks have created a name for themselves on and off the court. Off the court, the Shreveport Mavericks work to shape the minds of young children into helping them become the best person they can be through basketball camps and community service.  

Red River Balloon Rally

The CenterPoint Red River Balloon Rally Presented by the Louisiana Office of Tourism is a family-friendly event, featuring AEP Swepco kid zones, tethered balloon rides, and entertainment suitable for all ages.

Each night has live entertainment, food, retail vendors, and of course the magical balloon glow at dusk!

Louisiana State Ballooning Championship will be held on July 12-13, 2024 bringing 20+ hot air balloons to Shreveport-Bossier City!

Red River Rumble F1 Powerboat Showdown

The Formula 1 Powerboat Championship is an 8-race series contested across North America. US Powerboat racing has a 120-year heritage that began with the formation of the American Powerboat Association. For the last six decades, F1 powerboats have been recognized as one of the world’s most spectacular racing vehicles. This Powerboat event provides a prime opportunity for Shreveport-Bossier to highlight its expertise in hosting water-based sporting events, drawing more visitors to our vibrant city.

SOUTHERN TRACE COUNTRY CLUB GOLF

Surrounded by celestial pine valleys with open meadows and majestic oak forests in Shreveport, Southern Trace Country Club offers a championship golf course, eight lighted tennis courts, an Olympic sized pool and much more. 

Designed by the renowned Arthur Hills, this 7,015-yard golf course was voted number one in the state of Louisiana by Golf Digest on several occasions and for over 30 years has been regarded as the favorite place to play for golfers in Louisiana.

EASTRIDGE COUNTRY CLUB GOLF

Founded in 1955, East Ridge Country Club has become a leader of the private golf and country clubs of Louisiana, with championship golf and tennis facilities, private pool facilities and renowned social functions and activities. QUERBES PARK GOLF COURSE

Querbes Park Golf Course is the oldest and most historic active golf course in the area. It has introduced such stars as Hal Sutton and David Toms to the sport of golf. Legendary PGA tour golfers Sam Snead and Ben Hogan once set foot on Querbes Park Golf Course for an exhibition match.

THE CLUB AT HUNTINGTON PARK

The Club at Huntington Park is maturing into a true hidden gem in Northwest Louisiana. The course is reminiscent of the one that once hosted the Louisiana Open and was a regular stop on the PGA tour in the 1970s.

With the implementation of new horticultural practices and the recent renovations at The Club at Huntington Park, golfers come from near and far.
